Getting to know Laarni

Early Life
Laarni was born in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat in the Philippines. She was a consistent honor student in school. She joined different singing competitions in Sultan Kudarat to further hone her talent. When she was 15 years old, her Aunt from the US enrolled her at the School of Music of The Philippine Women's University. Laarni decided to shift her course from Music to Education due to her lack of eloquence in English. She however sang for different functions, singing competitions and other guestings. Her talent also helped her become a University scholar, so Laarni worked as a student assistant of the school.
Laarni joined different singing competitions, she won the Rotary Club Intercollegiate/University singing competition, besting 25 schools in Manila by rendering the patriotic anthem "Dakilang Lahi". She also won the National Grand Finals of the "Campus Idol" search, by delivering a flawless performance of "What Kind of Fool Am I", that left judge Wency Cornejo speechless.
Laarni also tried to be independent. She worked as a wedding singer in different churches, hotels and venues all over the metropolis.
Laarni also joined various chorales in Manila. She joined the PWU Church chorale, The Ambassadors of Light, The Malate Church Chorale and the Coro de San Sebastian. Through her extensive chorale background she was able to sing with the Coro de San sebastian with the Philippine Madrigal Singers in a Madrigal Et Al concert.
Career
Laarni Losala a.k.a Laarni Lozada is the Grand Star Dreamer of the second installment of ABS-CBN's Talent Reality Show, Pinoy Dream Academy. She was declared winner on September 14, 2008, garnering 651,696 votes (35.21% of the total votes), on the shows two-night finale
Her first single, Manalig Ka, was written by Ryan Cayabyab. It is included in the Top 10 scholar's album, namely Scholar's Sing Cayabyab.
